Account Manager Overview:
The Commercial and Personal Insurance Account Manager is a support role for the producing insurance advisor. The account manager's role is to help process new and renewal business. Additionally, the account manager is responsible for daily servicing for active clients.
Salary Range: $30000.00 - $60000.00 per year

Responsibilities
The responsibilities of a successful Personal Lines Account Manager include the following:
- Assist in the marketing/placement of new and renewal business. This includes building relationships with underwriters and knowing underwriting guidelines.
- Manage policy expiration lists and build relationships with the producing agent to ensure clients are properly serviced.
- Analyze and review current policies & Insurance offerings and recommend coverage changes and upgrades to protect clients without the producer's help.
- Build Proposals to assist the producing advisor on new and renewal opportunities.
- Check new and renewal policies for accuracy and ensure they are properly entered into the agency management system.
- Provide timely responses to clients for all service-related inquiries. Follow-through is critical in this role.
- When appropriate, the account manager needs to be able to identify cross-sell opportunities. The account manager is expected to handle the cross-sale if it is simple. If it is a more complex case, they have to be able to professionally loop the producer into a conversation for a formal review.
- Always learn. This business is ever-changing and complicated. To be successful, the account manager must be open to education and training opportunities.
- Maintain orderly and current files within the agency management system. This includes detailed narratives of all communications with clients, even if they seem minor.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Requirements to be a successful account manager:
- Willing to work and communicate in a team environment. The account manager has to be a great communicator and work well with many types of personalities, both internally and externally.
- Positive Attitude. Insurance is stressful; a positive attitude is an absolute requirement.
- Attention to detail.
- Thorough handling of all tasks and follow-ups.
- Personal initiative, goal-oriented, and a life learner. The account manager must prioritize wanting to improve.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills. It is the account manager's job to ensure things happen in the timeline they need to happen.
- Computer skills are a must. The agency currently operates on AMS360, but we are in the middle of a transition to Applied EPIC.
- This is a desk job. The ability to sit and work from a computer for extended periods of time is a must.
